New JBR tender out

Bids are due to be submitted by 1 November for the second batch of towers on the proposed Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR) project in Dubai (MEED 29:8:03; 11:4:03).

The package covers the construction of a 46-storey tower, twin towers, each of 40 storeys, and a common podium on the sector 2 plot. Up to 14 groups of local and international companies are expected to price the estimated AED 400 million-500 million ($109 million-136 million) contract.

Bids are now due to be returned by 20 October for package 1. It covers the construction of six towers of up to 35 storeys, each offering one, two, three and four-bedroom apartments.

The estimated $1,400 million JBR project involves the construction of 35 towers, of 40-46-storeys. The project manager is the UK's Mace International. Dubai Technology, e-commerce & Media Free Zone Authority (Tecom) is the client (MEED 20:6:03).
