New PMC move for Bid Boland

16 July 2004
The local Petropars has issued a tender to international firms to work alongside it on the project management consultancy (PMC) package of the Bid Boland gas treatment plant. Five companies were prequalified for the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) work, but fewer are expected to bid for the $1,000 million contract.

Petropars was selected in April as the main PMC contractor by the client, National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC). Foreign bidders for the EPC work are now trying to establish if they can also participate in the PMC tender.

The prequalifiers for the EPC work were: South Korea's Hyundai Engineering & Construction, with UK-based Foster Wheeler International and the local Nargan; Canada's SNC Lavalin, with the local Tehran Jonoob; Russia's Gazprom, with the local Mostazafan & Janbazan Foundation; the UK's Costain, with Sazeh Consult and Jahanpars, both local; and Malaysia's Petronas in partnership with an unidentified local company. Bids are due by late August.
