Fourteen companies have bid for the estimated $25 million Beit Mallat water supply project. The scope of works covers supplying and laying 55 kilometres of transmission lines and 15 distribution networks, and building 24 reservoirs. The Council for Development & Reconstruction (CDR) is planning to award the scheme, funded by the Jeddah-based Islamic Development Bank, by the end of September. Beit Mallat is one of several water supply projects underway.
Bids for a larger scheme in Kesrouan are under evaluation and offers for three projects in the Akkar region are due on 28 September (MEED 11:8:00; 23:6:00).
