Nigel McCue

Biography: Nigel McCue joined the board of Dubai-headquartered Lamprell in July 2006 as a non-executive director before being appointed as chief operating officer in May 2008. A year later, he was promoted to CEO.

McCue has more than 30 years of experience in the petroleum industry. Prior to joining Lamprell, his previous positions included CEO of Canada’s Jura Energy Corporation, various management roles at the US’ Chevron and chief financial officer of Sweden’s Lundin Petroleum.

McCue also served as president and vice-chairman of Dubai’s Nemmoco Petroleum, a private exploration and production company. He was senior non-executive director of Dragon Oil since 2002.

Lamprell specialises in the construction and refurbishment of jack-up rigs and other offshore vessels and facilities for the oil and gas industry. The company operates major yards in Dubai and Sharjah in the UAE and Thailand.
