The contract involves the supply and installation of a wellhead platform, a processing platform, 16 kilometres of subsea pipeline and a 10-kilometre power cable. The new facilities will be installed in the northern area of the offshore field.

The contract is the third major EPC award for NPCC on Al-Khalij. The company was the offshore EPC contractor for the central and eastern area developments, launched in 1997 and 2001 respectively.

The other bidders for the latest contract included Dubai-based J Ray McDermott Middle Eastand South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries.
