Oasis and Blenheim launch finance company

28 November 2007
Abu Dhabi’s Oasis International Leasing Company is partnering with the UK’s Blenheim Capital Partners to establish Al-Waha Financial Services.

Oasis will be the majority shareholder in the company, contributing 60 per cent of its initial AED50m ($13.7m) capital. The company will specialise in structured finance once it has obtained regulatory approval.

The investment is part of Oasis’s plans to diversify away from its core business of big-ticket aviation leasing. The company is restructuring and will change its name to Al-Waha Capital. Its shares are listed on the Abu Dhabi Securities Market.

Blenheim is a joint venture of Barclays Capital and Summit Overseas Development.
