German technology provider to build PET resin complex at Salalah
Oman’s Octal Petrochemicals has awarded Germany’s Uhde Inventa-Fischer the contract to build a 550,000 tonnes-a-year PET (polyethylene terephthalate) resin at its complex at Salalah in the sultanate.
In a statement the company said that Uhde will deliver two lines for the Octal expansion using its patented technology for the production of packaging materials.
The value of the contract was not disclosed.
Octal Petrochemicals is the world’s largest producer of PET clear rigid sheet packaging and the largest producer of PET resin in the Middle East (MEED 12:3:09).
