Brazilian plane maker Embraer, the world's largest maker of regional jets, said today it has signed a deal to sell five Embraer 175 aircraft to Oman Air. The deal, which is valued at $177.5m, is the manufacturer's first with a Gulf airline. Oman Air has also taken options for five more Embraer 175, potentially doubling the value of the deal, Embraer said. First delivery of the 72-seat aircraft is scheduled for the first quarter of 2011.
