Galfar Engineering & Construction confirms $73m contract win
The local Galfar Engineering & Construction has confirmed it has won work for the second phase of the dualisation of Omans Nizwa-Ibri road for RO28m ($73m).
The firm expects to complete the construction work in late 2016. The road, extending from Jibrin to Ibri, is more than 130 kilometres long.
Oman also awarded a $125m deal on the Bidbid-Sur dual carriageway on 21 January. The work involves adding a third lane and modifying the path of some parts of the road.
Other sections of the $1.1bn Bidbid-Sur project were awarded to Indias Larsen & Toubro and the local KAS in 2014. The US Hill International is the project manager.
Both schemes form part of Omans infrastructure investment.
