Bids due in on 26 August for project management deal for planned national rail network
Oman has extended the deadline for bids for the project management consultancy (PMC) contract covering the planned national railway.
The deadline is now set for 26 August, giving prospective bidders almost a month of extra preparation time.
To date, almost 30 companies have bought the tender documents for the PMC contract.
The tender is another major step forward for the railway project, which will cover more than 2,244 kilometres of track and link Omans major ports and cities including Muscat, Sohar, Duqm and Salalah.
In early July, Omans Transport and Communication Ministry drew up a shortlist of three consultants all vying to win the preliminary design contract for the rail network.
