Forty local and international consultants collect tender documents

Oman’s Supreme Committee for Town Planning has invited firms to bid by 8 March for a contract to prepare an urban masterplan for Duqm.

At least 40 local and international consultants have collected tender documents for the study. It involves co-ordinating the development of the coastal city’s new projects, which are among the most ambitious in Oman.

The planned projects include a new airport and sea port, a drydock and ship-building facilities, a 560-kilometre rail line to Muscat, a refinery and real estate developments.

In late December, Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) invited firms to bid for the contract to supervise and manage the construction of the planned Crowne Plaza Duqm Resort on the Arabian Sea coast of the sultanate (MEED 24:1:10).
