Work will involve building 220kV substation in the northeastern town of Izki
Oman Electricity Transmission Company (OETC) has invited contractors to submit bids for the contract to build a new 220kV substation at Izki, located in the Ad Dakhiliyah governorate in northeastern Oman.
Contractors have until 8 July to submit bids for the tender. The Izki substation is the latest of several transmission and distribution projects that OETC has tendered as part of the sultanate’s efforts to boost its electricity network.
In May, OETC invited companies to submit bids for the contract to build a gas insulated substation (GIS) at the Mahada grid station in northern Oman. The work will involve replacing an existing outdoor 132kV switchyard with an indoor 132kV GIS at the northern grid station. Contractors have until 17 July to submit bids for the tender.
In February, the local Mazoon Electricity Company received bids for three contracts to build substations in the Batinah governorate.
