Isam bin Saud al-Zadjali replaces previous head jailed in corruption crackdown
State-owned Oman Oil Company (OOC) has appointed Isam bin Saud al-Zadjali as its new CEO, replacing the previous head who was jailed on a corruption charge.
Al-Zadjali previously served as senior vice-president business development for Middle East and North Africa (Mena) at US-based Occidental Petroleum and president of its local oil producer Occidental Oman.
Previous CEO Ahmad al-Wahaibi was in February sentenced to 23 years in prison, charged with accepting bribes, abuse of office and money laundering.
The sentence was part of an anti-graft clampdown in Oman, which also handed jail to terms to several other executives and government officials.
OOC has more than 40 investments in 15 countries with domestic projects including a new refinery and petrochemicals project at the central port of Duqm.
