Omani authorities have announced construction works are expected to begin later this year for two new greenfield airports in the country, reported Gulf News. An international airport at Duqm in the Wusta region is now under construction while a modest-sized airport facility at Ras Al Hadd in the Sharqiya region is on queue to cater to eco-tourism resorts planned in the area. Sohar, Haima, Adam and Shaleem are also eyed for greenfield airports in the future.
