State power firm to appoint replacement quickly
The chief executive officer of Oman Power & Water Procurement (OPWP), Alastair de Reuck, has resigned.
De Reuck served in the role for just over a year, starting in November 2008.
The company informed firms it is working with in Oman, of the change in late January.
It is not yet clear why De Reuck stepped down, but sources close to the company say speculation relating to an investigation into the procurement process for the Salalah independent water and power project, is unfounded.
Clive Dalton has taken over as acting CEO. Dalton became a member of the company’s board in February 2009 and is also executive manager for strategy and planning at the local Electricity Holding Company.
OPWP is expected to appoint a permanent replacement for De Reuck quickly.
