Firms from Oman, UAE and Europe compete for architectural and engineering role
The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) has received bids for the architect of record and consulting engineer role on the Jabal al-Akhdar resort project in the Nizwa area of Oman.
The bidders are the local Al-Hatmy Engineering Consultancy; Spain’s Alatec; UAE-based Architectural Consulting Group; UK-based Atkins; Denmark’s Cowi; the local Engineering Innovation Design & Consulting; Italy’s Favero & Milan Ingegneria; Canada’s Hanscomb; Italy’s Intertecno; Germany’s IPRO Dresden; UK-based K Home International; the local Modern Engineering Consultancy; UK-based Pell Frischman; Denmark’s Ramboll; Spain’s Typsa; and the local Triad Oman Consultants International.
The hotel, in the east of the sultanate, 170 kilometres from Muscat, will incorporate 90 suites, 22 three-bedroom villas, five spa suites and a health club.
The successful bidder will work with France’s AW2 Design, which was appointed as the lead consultant and architect in December 2009 (MEED 2:9:09).
