Oman Power & Water Procurement (OPWP) has received prequalification entries from nine groups for planned independent water projects (IWPs) at Barka and North Batinah.
The nine prequalification entries were from:
- Acwa Power (Saudi Arabia)
- Cobra Instalaciones Y Servicio (Spain)
- China Geo-Engineering Corporation / Al-Fairuz Trading & Contracting Company (local) / Hyflux (Singapore)
- Engie (France)
- GS Inima Environment (South Korea)
- Suez (France)
- Valoriza (Spain)
- Veolia (France)
- Utico (UAE) / Aqualia (Spain) / Majis Industrial Service (local)
The client is currently evaluating the prequalification entries and will inform successful developers before issuing tender documents for the desalination projects.
The desalination plants will be located in the Barka and North Batinah areas, which will have capacities of 100,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d) and 150,000 cm/d respectively.
