Oman’s Haya Water has received prosposals from financial consultants for a programme to develop three sewage treatment plants (STPs) under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
The three STPs that Haya is seeking to develop under the PPP model are located at: Misfah, Al-Suwaiq and Al-Khaboorah. Haya received proposals for the transaction and financial advisory role on 25 January.
The selected financial advisor will select a team of advisers, including technical, legal and environmental to assist with preparations for the PPP projects.
The STP projects are part of Haya’s programme to expand its coverage of wastewater services in Muscat and other regions. Hussain Hassan Ali AbdulHussain, Haya Water CEO, said in December 2017 that Haya Water was planning to invest $2bn over the next four years until 2022 to expand and upgrade wastewater services in the sultanate.
