Companies invited to prequalify for consultancy work

Oman’s Tourism Ministry has invited companies to prequalify for consultancy services to develop tourism projects in the Gulf country.

Documents are available for collection until 11 July, with the deadline for bids set for 29 July.

In an effort to boost Oman’s appeal to tourists, Ahmed bin Salim al-Futaisi, Transport and Communications Ministry announced in May the approval of a masterplan for the rehabilitation and expansion of Muscat’s Port Sultan Qaboos.

The plan includes developing new cruise ship terminals, as well as marinas for yachts and boats, establishing the city as a key tourist attraction in the region.

The ministry is expected to identify a company to develop the port.
