Oman signs berth infrastructure contract

Contract worth $143m awarded to Kuwait’s Combined Group Contracting

Oman’s Special Economic Zone Authority in Duqm (Sezad) awarded a OM55.4m ($143m) contract to Kuwait’s Combined Group Contracting Company to build the infrastructure facilities at the port.

The project will take 30 months to complete.

The integrated berth will feature a total length of 980 metres, all of which will serve government entities and fast ferries.

The project scope is understood to include the construction of buildings, roads and related facilities to serve the berth. The relevant facilities would include:

  • Electricals
  • Potable water
  • Telecommunications and sewer networks
  • Fire-fighting systems
  • Four pumps
  • Drainage of surface water
  • Water tanks
  • Security gates
