Work will involve building harbour at Duqm
Oman’s Agriculture and Fisheries Ministry has invited companies to submit bids for the contract to build a fishery harbour at Duqm, on the east coast of Oman.
Contractors have until 10 September to submit bids for the contract.
By 12 July, four contractors had picked up documents for the tender. These are:
- Al-Hassan Engineering Company (local)
- Consolidated Contractors Company (CCC) (Athens-based)
- Galfar Engineering and Contracting (local)
- Sezai Turkes (Turkey)
The project is the latest of several contracts that have been tendered in the past year as the government seeks to upgrade its port and related industrial facilities at Duqm.
In September 2011, Strabag Oman was awarded a $210.3m contract to build access roads and infrastructure at the new $2.6bn Duqm port and dry dock. The port is due to open in 2013.
