Zone will act as link between Muscat and Sohar port
Omans Public Establishment for Industrial Estates has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) by 1 February for the contract to operate and manage the South al-Batinah Logistics Area (Sabla).
Consultancy and design and build tenders were floated in 2014, but have yet to be awarded.
The 95 square-kilometre logistics area will handle multi-modal goods transport between Sohar Industrial Port and Muscat. It will be linked by the four-lane Batinah expressway, currently under construction, and the planned national railway.
The logistics zone is intended to increase the volume of trade through Sohar port and Oman as a whole.
