Oman tenders logistics zone maintenance

15 January 2015

Zone will act as link between Muscat and Sohar port

Oman’s Public Establishment for Industrial Estates has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) by 1 February for the contract to operate and manage the South al-Batinah Logistics Area (Sabla).

Consultancy and design and build tenders were floated in 2014, but have yet to be awarded.

The 95 square-kilometre logistics area will handle multi-modal goods transport between Sohar Industrial Port and Muscat. It will be linked by the four-lane Batinah expressway, currently under construction, and the planned national railway.

The logistics zone is intended to increase the volume of trade through Sohar port and Oman as a whole.
