The Oman Wastewater Services Company (OWSC) has tendered two major contracts covering the design and project management of two wastewater projects close to Muscat.
The first consultancy contract covers the design, supervision and contract administration for the Bausher wastewater network.
The second deal covers the design and supervision of the Mutrah and al-Bustan wastewater network.
The bid deadline for both contracts is 21 July. Awards should be made soon after. The construction contracts themselves are likely to be issued for bid in 2009.
OWSC has also invited bids for the construction contract covering the main trunk sewer and a pumping station at Qurum. Bids for that contract are due by 30 June.
The modernisation of the capital’s sewerage system should benefit 80 per cent of Muscat’s population by 2014.
