Oman to finalise airport deals

30 September 2010

Oman’s Tender Board is set to float tenders soon for contracts to expand the Muscat and Salalah airports, Times of Oman has reported. The winning bidder for the capital’s airport will design and build an additional terminal that is capable of handling the expected growth in passenger traffic for the next two decades. This follows a OR450m contract awarded by the board last year to build a runway, taxiway system, aprons, roads and utility buildings. The Salalah airport expansion plan, which includes building a new terminal and runway, aims to turn it into an international terminal.
