Oman's Al-Raseed submits low-bid for road contract

Oman’s Al-Raseed Trading & Contracting Company has submitted the low-bid for a road infrastructure contract in the sultanate.

The firm bid OR7.5m ($19m) for the contract, which covers the construction of a road connecting Hajaif to Jahnin to Asir.

Ten other firms also submitted bids for the work. The local Nasr Arabian Company was second lowest with a bid of OR9.2m, and Shanfari & Partners Company was third lowest with OR9.6m. Oman Company for Building & Contracting was the highest bidder with a price of OR17.7m.

The tender was issued by the client, the Transport and Communication Ministry on 24 November 2008. The deadline for bids was 19 January.
