Oman's Majan Electricity plans expansion

Oman’s Majan Electricity has unveiled plans to invest OR5m ($13m) in the next three years in the industrial estate of Sohar port, for expanding by 250 mega watts its current 200mw supply, Times of Oman has reported. The company is also to invest OR500,000 ($1.3m) for generating 50mw at the Sohar Industrial Estate affiliated to PEIE, taking the total capacity of 150mw after three years. Another OR2.5m ($6.5m) expansion is expected in Buraimi with 150mega watts, bringing the total capacity up to 200mw, as well as the additional expansion of 50 mw in the Ibri Industrial Estate at the cost of OR2.5m to increase the total capacity to 100 mw, Majan said.
