Biography: Omar Aljazy is managing partner of Amman-based law firm Aljazy & Company.

He is an experienced arbitrator and the Jordanian representative to the UN Commission on International Trade Law.

He holds a PhD in international commercial arbitration law from the University of Kent in the UK, an MA in international and comparative business law from London Guildhall University, also in the UK, and a BA in law from the University of Jordan. Aljazy is on the drafting committee of the new Jordanian maritime law.

Aljazy is a board member of the Aqaba Development Corporation, a member of the International Bar Association and vice-chairman of the Jordanian Corporate Gov-ernance Association. Aljazy & Company is a three-partner firm whose clients are public and private commercial businesses and financial institutions, as well as government and state-owned entities.
