Local developer Omniyat Group has appointed UAE-based NSCC International to carry out enabling works on its Downtown Dubai project.
NSCC will carry out all foundation and enabling work on the AED1bn project ($273m) five-star hotel and serviced apartments in the Downtown area.
Mobilisation work will begin in one week and will be complete in the first quarter of 2017, said a company statement.
Located in Burj Khalifa district, Langham Place Downtown Dubai will span a built up area of 207,519 square metres and will add a total of 438 units to the hospitality sector in Dubai upon completion in 2018.
Sources close to the project also told MEED that the Omniyat had received bids for the main construction contract, although it is understood the client has requested revised offers.
Omniyat also said it is looking to award the main construction contract by the end of the year, according to the statement.
