Barker Barton & Lawson, a subsidiary of the UK's Currie & Brown, has won the consultancy contract for the Fort Hotel in Oman, worth OR124,842 ($324,000).
The Swiss-based Maya Overseas has been selected as architect and lead design consultants with a deal worth OR785,918 and New Zealand-based Beca International is the project manager.
Bids have been submitted for consultancy contracts on two further Omran projects. Malaysian firm Pentago Spowers International has secured the low bid for the masterplanning of Ras al-Hamra, while India's Consulting Engineering Services is low bidder for the civil, infrastructure and utilities engineering contract.
Consulting Engineering is also the low bidder for the architecture contract on the Jabal al-Akhdar project, with Kuwait's Projacs low bidder for the project management contract (MEED 29:01:08).
