Omran extends closing date for Duqm hotel contract

The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) is extending the closing date for bids to build a hotel at Duqm by two weeks to 25 August.

Prospective bidders include India's Larsen & Toubro, the local/UK Carillion Alawi, Galfar Engineering & Contracting, and Bahwan Engineering Company, both local.

The contract involves the construction of a four-star hotel with 204 rooms and 28 chalets as well as a ballroom, banquet room and spa. The works also include ancillary structures such as staff accommodation, chiller plants and a sewage treatment plant.

The total built-up area is 45,000 square metres. The site area is 208,000 sq m.
