The project is due for completion in 2014
The Oman Tourism Development Company (Omran) is inviting companies to submit bids by 19 September for a contract to carry out earthworks for its planned Fort Hotel resort.
The Fort Hotel resort will be a five-star hotel with 120 rooms. It will be built about 25 kilometres south-east of Seeb International airport. The hotel will be set on an area of 3.7 square kilometres on the Bausher mountains overlooking the city of Muscat. The development is scheduled for completion in 2014.
Earlier in the year, Omran also invited firms to submit bids by 28 June for an interior design contract for the project.
In 2008, Omran awarded three contracts for the Fort Hotel project. Barker Barton & Lawson, a subsidiary of the UK’s Currie & Brown, was awarded the consultancy contract, and Swiss-based Maya Overseas was selected as architect and lead design consultants in a deal worth OR785,918.
New Zealand-based Beca International was selected as the project manager (MEED 27:3:08).
