ORC debottleneck out to bid

Oman Refinery Company (ORC)has invited consultants to bid by 1 June for the contract to draw up front-end engineering and design (FEED) studies for a proposed debottlenecking of the 85,000-barrel-a-day (b/d) Mina al-Fahal refinery. The refinery is already undergoing extensive upgrade work.

South Korea's SK Engineering & Constructionis due to complete by December the installation of an 18,000-b/d diesel hydro-desulphurisation unit that will produce low-sulphur diesel fuel (MEED 7:6:02). Granherne & Companyof the US is also drawing up FEED studies for the contract to install a 10,000-b/d isomerisation unit at the refinery. The unit, which is licensed by UOPof the US, will produce unleaded gasoline (MEED 7:2:03).
