Despite the global slowdown, the Middle East in general and the Gulf States in particular offer a healthy market for business aviation aircraft, said HE Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Minister of Economy and Chairman, General Civil Aviation Authority for the UAE. Speaking at the opening of the Middle East Business Aviation show in Dubai, Mansoori said business aviation traffic in the UAE is witnessing steady growth and is estimated at 1,300 movements per month. However, he cautioned that the industry faces challenges due to a shrinking pool of human resources and the need to find solutions to control emissions trading and the development of green airports.
