Contract covers infrastructure work at new development
US-based Parsons International has been awarded a consultancy contract for work at Dubai Design District (D3) by local developer Tecom Investments.
The deal involves Parsons supervising infrastructure, road and bridge design, and construction work.
The D3 project is located adjacent to Business Bay and has 10 buildings under construction. The first phase of the development covers more than 2 million square metres.
It has been designed primarily as a business zone, with office space for more than 10,000 workers in the design, fashion and luxury sectors, but also as a retail and entertainment district.
There will be more than 250,000 square metres of shopping space, as well as luxury, four-star and boutique hotels, and furnished apartments with more than 4,000 rooms.
