UK-based Penspen has been awarded a project management consultancy (PMC) contract for work on the offshore oil and gas hub of Das Island in Abu Dhabi.

The contract was awarded by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (ADMA-OPCO), which processes oil and gas from its offshore Umm Shaif and Lower Zakum fields on the island.

Under the contract, Penspen will advise Adma-Opco in four areas:

• The upgrade or replacement of various pipeline networks
• Studies to be conducted on an oil spill response hub, to serve Das Island and offshore
• Major overhaul of crude oil storage tanks
• Installation of three COL pumps and associated modification

The PMC contract started in January 2016 and will run for four years.
