British group will oversee upgrade of Umm Shaif gas facilities to increase capacity

UK-based Penspen has been awarded a contract by Abu Dhabi Marine Operating Company (Adma-Ooco) to provide project management consultancy (PMC) services for an offshore gas project at the Umm Shaif field.

Under the contract, Penspen will project manage a consortium of France’s Technip and UAE-based National Petroleum Construction Company (NPCC) in upgrading gas facilities at the Umm Shaif Super Complex (USSC).

The Additional Gas Supply from USSC Project will increase the capacity of the facilities by 200 million cubic feet a day (cf/d).

The scope of work includes the modification of several topsides and the construction of new flowlines, gas coolers and receiving facilities.

Penspen will provide several services, including project management and controls, detailed engineering management, field engineering management and quality, health, safety and environment (QHSE).

The USSC is located 150 kilometres from Abu Dhabi and 36 kilometres from the Das Island gas processing hub.
