Pentagon appoints sector project managers

The US Department of Defence awarded on 10 March seven programme management and co-ordination support contracts. The awards, which total more than $130 million, cover the management and co-ordination of six construction sectors.

The successful bidders are:

California-based AECOMhas a $21.6 million contract to provide management support to the six sector management offices and ensure co-ordination and standardisation across the sectors;

Iraq Power Alliance Joint Venture, a joint venture of the US' Parsons Energy &Chemicals Groupand the UK office of Parsons Brinckerhoff, has a $43.4 million contract to provide support to the electrical services sector programme management office;

CH2M Hill/Parsons, a US joint venture between CH2M Hilland Parsons Water & Infrastructure, has a $28.5 million contract to provide support to the public works & water sector programme management office;

The UK office of FosterWheelerhas an $8.4 million contract to provide support to the oil sector programme management office;

Berger/ URS, a US joint venture of the Louis Berger Groupand the URSGroup, has three contracts totalling $27.5 million to provide support to the transportation & communication, security & justice and buildings, education & health sector programme management offices.

The Pentagon plans to award by the end of March 10 design-and-build sector contracts totalling $4,400 million (MEED 5:3:04).
