Security forces fire tear gas, water cannons and live bullets in Sanna

Police in the Yemen capital of Sanaa have attacked a protest camp in Tahrir Square with tear gas, water cannons and live bullets.

The UK’s BBC reported that six people were killed in the attack with another 1,250 injured – 250 of them were serious.

The attack comes as foreign governments urge the opposition to engage in talks with Yemen’s President Ali Abdullah Saleh in order to stop any more bloodshed.

The opposition has so far rejected Saleh’s request for talks and say that his current offer to stand down at the next election, as well as reform government is not enough.
