Developers or developer consortiums have been asked to submit their profiles by 17 April to design, build, operate and/or finance a reverse osmosis desalination plant at the development on the Red Sea coast.

The facility is planned to have a capacity of 30,000 cubic metres a day (cm/d), expandable to 60,000 cm/d.

The masterplanner of Kaec is Emaar, The Economic City, which is listed on the Saudi Stock Exchange.
