03 June 2003
Abu Dhabi-based Dolphin Energy (DEL)has invited companies to seek prequalification by 26 May for another engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package on the Dolphin gas project (see Tenders; MEED 25:4:03; 14:3:03).

The gas-receiving complex package calls for the fabrication, supply and installation of a letdown station, a fiscal metering unit, gas heating facilities, a 9.6 kilometre-long, 48-inch-diameter onshore pipeline and a 800-metre, 18-inch-diameter pipeline and related facilities at Taweelah in Abu Dhabi emirate.

The Dolphin pipeline will transport 3,200 million cubic feet a day of dry gas from the North field to customers in the UAE. Project completion is set for 2006.

DEL has issued for bid four major EPC contracts, covering: the onshore gas treatment plant at Ras Laffan in Qatar, the sealines, the Ras Laffan-Taweelah export pipeline and the platforms packages in the North field (MEED 25:4:03).
