A team of Germany's Hans Brochierand the local Alexandria Construction Companyhas submitted the lowest price for the contract to expand the Kalag and Khossous pumping stations in northeast Cairo. Its quote of£E 78 million ($18.6 million) was 18 per cent lower than the second-placed bidder, Degremontof France, with the local Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Company).
Six groups bid for the contract, which is financed by the European Investment Bank. The client is the Cairo Wastewater Organisation. The consultant on the scheme is France's Sogreah(MEED 9:3:01).
