Abu Dhabi's Public Works Department has invited prequalified companies to submit bids by 2 October for the project management contract for the overall infrastructure development on Saadiyat island.
The prequalifiers are understood to include Mott MacDonald and Mouchel & Partners, both of the UK, and Bechtel, Louis Berger International, Parsons Brinckerhoff International and Parsons International, all of the US.
Emirates Global Capital Corporation, the government-owned company responsible for the infrastructure development of Saadiyat island, appointed in June the US' Skidmore Owings & Merrill to prepare a preliminary masterplan for the first phase of the Saadiyat development programme. The UK's Halcrow Group has been appointed marine and engineering consultant (MEED 30:6:00).
