US firm Turner will now manage the Eastern Mangrove resort and Golf hotel

Abu Dhabi’s Tourism Development & Investment Company (TDIC) has replaced the project manager on its Eastern Mangrove resort and Golf hotel projects.

US-based Turner Construction International has been appointed to replace another US-based project manager, Tishman Construction, on the two schemes, both of which are at an advanced stage of construction.

“I can confirm that the project manager Tishman Construction has in fact been replaced by Turner Construction International,” says a TDIC spokeswoman.

Australia’s Multiplex is the contractor on both of the projects. Multiplex won the estimated AED450m ($122m) contract to build the 148-room Westin Hotel at Abu Dhabi Golf Course in December 2009 (MEED 10:12:09).

Multiplex won the AED1bn contract to build the Eastern Mangrove in August 2009. It involves the construction of a 223-room resort, which features a five-star hotel with conference facilities, shops and 129 apartments (MEED 7:8:09).
