Ed James from MEED Projects provides a mid-year review of the GCC projects market
Watch Ed James analyse the GCC projects market based on MEED Projects proprietary data covering more than 14,000 active capital projects.
The analysis includes 2015 vs 2016 contract awards, first-half 2016 vs first-half 2017 award comparison, and a forecast outlook for 2017 as a whole.
Overall, 2017 so far has been disappointing, with only Dubai having performed well, although Saudi Arabia has shown some signs of improvement. When projecting forward for 2017 as a whole, the pipeline of schemes under bidding suggests the market at best will only likely match 2016s record low levels due mainly to the lower oil prices.
