Qatar Airways launches routes to Benghazi

Flights to start on 1 November

Qatar Airways says it plans to launch flights to Benghazi on 1 November.

Benghazi is on the Mediterranean coast and was the centre of much of the civil unrest in Libya this year. It is also the airline’s13th destination launched by Qatar Airways this year.

Qatar Airways’ suspended its flights to Tripoli due to the current political situation in Libya. The airline will also start flights to Entebbe in Uagnda and Chongqing in China in November.

Qatar Airways is also expanding its cargo services and plans to start freight routes to three cities in North America in November. The cities include Atlanta, Houston and Toronto (MEED 10:10:11). The airline’s only existing cargo route in the US is to Chicago.
