Three contractors win work around Doha
Kuwait’s Combined Group Company for Trading & Contracting has won a QR229m ($63m) contract to build five new schools in Doha.
The client, Qatar’s Public Works Authority (Ashghal), has awarded several school contracts in 2009. It awarded five such contracts worth a total of QR207m in July.
Qatar’s Imperial Trading & Contracting Company won three contracts worth a total of QR126m.
The first is for the construction of a secondary school for girls in the Maamoura district. The second is for a secondary school for girls at Al-Amir. The third is for a Modern School at Al-Saliliyah.
Qatar’s Al-Aali International won a QR41m contract to build a school at New Salata; and Inshaa Contracting & Trading, also local, won a QR40m contract to construct a school at Najma (MEED 23:7:09).
