Turnover declined to a three-month low at the Qatar Exchange (QE), whose main index ended 0.19% down at 6,761.60 points. Some 5.3m shares changed hands. Doha bank finished 0.46% lower at QR43.40. According to the QE website, the exchange and the Qatar Central Bank (QCB) signed an agreement through which the latter is now carrying out all cash settlement services of electronic trading operations executed by brokers on the Exchange. An official source at the Qatar Exchange stated that the agreement, which has been signed between the two sides on May 17 has become operational on 30 May 2010, when the QCB replaced Doha Bank, which was previously assigned to carry out such services.
