The QE 20 Index closed half a percent higher Sunday, closing at 8,636.82 points. Lender in particular helped the gauge to rebound. Al Ahli Bank surged 7.44%, while the country's largest bank buy assets Qatar National Bank gained 0.22%. The QE bellwether Industries Qatar finished one percent higher. Doha Bank advanced 1.18%. Earlier in the day Sheikh Fahad Bin Mohammed Bin Jabor Al-Thani, the Chairman of Doha Bank announced, the lender has "successfully completed the Senior bond issue of $500m under Doha Bank's Euro Medium Term Note Programme (EMTN) of $2bn through the two arrangers Morgan Stanley and J P Morgan.' The bond is listed at the London Stock Exchange. The proceeds will be used for general funding purposes required to support the bank's growth plans, according to the bank's statement.
