Tender deadline for Kahramaas Lusail office pushed back
The Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has extended to 10 October a tender for the construction of a new office tower in the marina district of Lusail.
The tower comprises a ground level, mezzanine, 19 upper floors and a technical floor of a total approximate area of about 43,000 square feet. There are also five basement levels comprising approximately 42,000 feet.
In June, Kahramaa sought expressions of interest for two schemes, including the first new independent water and power project (IWPP) in the country since 2008.
The IWPP, being built south of Doha near Mesaieed, will have a power capacity of 2,000MW and a desalination capacity of 90 million gallons a day (g/d).The other project is a 45 million g/d desalination plant at Ras Laffan, north of Doha. The latter plant will be used for industrial purposes and will include an expansion option that would double its capacity.
