Qatar extends deadline for Ras Laffan cooling deal

Qatar Petroleum is extending the deadline for commercial bids for the common cooling seawater system at Ras Laffan Industrial City.

Bids for theengineering, procurement, installation and commissioning contractwere originally due to be submitted on 11 November, but this has now been delayed until 9 December.

The contract covers the second part of the Phase 2 expansion of the plant. Four technical bids were submitted in October byJapan’s Marubeni Corporation; Saipem with Snamprogetti, both ofItaly;Sharjah-based Petrofac International withIndia’s Punj Lloyd, and Athens-based Consolidated Contractors International Company.
